Napalm Riot

Lets first start with graphics, for an RTS game or any game in general WIC has top notch graphics. Unit models and textures are fabulous and effect and physics are stunning. On these forums alone many people thought the screens I was posting of WIC thought it was a FPS or flight sim. That endorsement alone nets it excellent graphics.

Sound is quite good as well with little things as explosions sounding different depending on the distance zoomed out. Also while zoomed on to your units you can hear them talking and some of it is just hilarious. The character dialog is quite good, and the campaign is narrated by Alec Baldwin. The only downfall is the sound effects aren't as pronounced as a game say Company of Heroes.

At first glance WIC seems like an RTS game with no real strategy and everything seems like a big rush. However as you dwell deeper, into the game you notice little things that make you better and allow you to become a better player. Little thing such as tank direction, aa placement, tanksniping, flares etc. Also while the singleplayer is okay, this game really shines with multiplayer especially when you find a good clan or group to play with. Clan matches are the meat of this game, and each one seems like a little sporting event much like a game of football. This game is heavy on the teamwork, this is why some people might not have a good experience with the game. To get the most from this game I recommend you find a good clan, since lone wolfing it isn't much of an option. Also the best part of the game: Clan matches are only available to clans(duh).

The story is good and really gave me a cold war experience, while the soviets would have never reached american soil. The story was presented much like Red Storm Rising, with not only the main character being represented.

For replay value I have to give this game a 10, I have spent over 150 hours with the multiplayer, 10+ hours with the singleplayer and countless hours creating ingame movies which I have to say is a blast to do. Maybe when NPR offers video hosting I will upload some. After all this I'm still playing the game religiously, however if my clan suddenly died, I would probably stop playing right there.

World in Conflict is very different from other games in the genre with teamwork being more important than individual skill. Non team players will hate this game, but for the rest of us its truly an excellent game. Also to enjoy this game better I also suggest purchasing a mic.
